Discover Pune 11 - The Treasure Hunt with a Twist!

Discover Pune is a treasure hunt which has been organised by the Rotaract Club of Shaniwarwada every year for the last decade. This event is organised in collaboration with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage). One of my cousins , who is a member of the Rotaract Club, had been on my case to get me to participate in this event. This was the first time I actually managed to get a team together.
Discover Pune is a treasure hunt with a twist. The organisers of this event always have some new rules or new factors which make this event much more than any regular treasure hunt. This year they had divided Pune into 13 regions (A-M) and had created a Revenue System. Each region had a set number of revenue points which were counted on an hourly basis, while each location had some Heritage points. These Heritage Points could be used to create/destroy capitals.
A team could create/destroy capitals only when they had discovered a minimum of 5 locations. The advantage of creating a capital was that the revenue per hour received from that location would be doubled from the point when it was made a capital. To create a capital you had to visit one of the two ghost locations and inform the volunteer there of your wish to create/conquer the capital. The final step to create a capital was to pay some number of Revenue points to the volunteer who would make a note of the time at which the capital had been created.
Other players could also conquer other players' capital by paying more than what the other player had paid to set up his capital. The advantage from this was that the conquering team would get 20% of the conquered team's total score.
At the end of the time period of the game (11:30 AM), the points of all teams would be tallied up and the team with the highest score would be declared the victor.
The flag off point for the event was at Shaniwarwada. At the beginning of the event, each team would be given their first clue. When the team successfully decodes the clue and reaches that location, the location volunteer would give the team with a map which had the clues of the locations printed on it. Once the team had received the map they could find the locations in any order until the time was up.
